Week 5
Feb 21- Feb 27, 2025

Class Notes// free write | translation ideas
prompt:
take notes.
how migh this website end? when does one feel they have “seen it all”? how does one exit? what gives a sense of “conclusion”? helper question: what do you want people to think about?
who is the reader/ viewer? who/ what (artist, author, maker&/webpage/browser) are they engaging?
where are you feeling energy/ excitement?

Centre Pompidou

industrail exterior v.s. interior with Fine Arts
the beginning of the experience// landing page, or whatever part of the experience
while inside of the experience/ once you get in — inside each “gallery” it could be very “fine Artsy”
the elevator
in reality: take you up to different levels, while also lead you to see the beautiful sunset/ view of the city
personal memories
you yourself, visit again after 2 years
in web: maybe make this an experience, of how the user see things after 2 years?

translating the elevator:
        scroll all the way from the bottom of the page, as the user scroll up the page go up;
different level: some mechanisim once you scroll at certain point, can lead you to another page, that resembles/ translate the galleries at different levels
on the way up: in reality: the view got better and better, you can see beatufiul view/ sunset and the Effiel once you get onto the top; if you look down you can also see the square, the grounds; I saw little kids in lines before, which I found very cute.
in the web: if the mouse move to the lower right, can change the perspective and zoom into the ground?
the website’s content itself can become very different, maybe brighter and brighter// with better view, till you go onto the top?

the possibilities of bringing both the architectural/ escalator together with my personal experience and memory feels exciting for me.

Mogao Caves

light and dark
in actuality: inside the caves are extremly dark; you can’t see anything without light
in web: some area that light up?

very unassuming from the outside, comparing to what is inside.
